Telford After Care Team

Telford After care Team (TACT) was founded in 2012 to help people in their recovery from addictions by empowering service users through mutual aid to lead a productive and fulfilling life in the community.

TACT is an independent company  which provides mutual aid, after care and support for people recovering from substance addiction and associated issues. It is staffed mostly by ex-service users, most of whom work on a voluntary basis.

TACT helps people recover from addiction by improving their physical and mental health, well-being and independence by providing access to all service users from the Telford and Wrekin area to a large range of opportunities such as sign posting and advice, harm reduction and health advice, mutual aid groups, housing and welfare support drop-in sessions, educational courses and training, group and recreational activities, counselling and much more.

Working alongside partner agencies we have helped hundreds of people tackle their addictions and live a healthier life, helping them return to education, get into housing and be debt free and return to employment.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers are always happy to help, offering one-to-one appointments to discuss any problems service users may have and provide ongoing support, help with CV's and job searches and sign posting to all known services in and around Telford and Wrekin.

TACT run many support groups from our hub at Strickland House on a daily basis facilitated by our staff and volunteers. These include Arts and Crafts, Womens Groups, Meditation Groups, Walking Groups, Gardening Groups, Dual-Diagnosis Groups and numerous SMART Recovery Groups both at the centre and accorss Telford.

We facilitate the Telford and Wrekin Service User Group (Telford Change Forum), where service users can give their own opinions on the way services are designed and run and feed this in to the local commissioning team.

“TACT introduced me to a world of help such as peer support groups, voluntery work and education. They are not just my support but my friends, who I am eternally grateful for”
